Matt is Co-Convenor of ABC Alumni and is a former staff-elected director on the ABC Board. He is the author of "Killer Company", a history of the former Australian asbestos manufacturer James Hardie which was dramatised as the ABC mini-series “Devil’s Dust”. 

Matt won the ABC Friends NSW & ACT Broadcasting Award in 2019.
