ABC Friends speaker for 2021, Peter Martin

The local branch of ABC Friends (Northern Tablelands) will be hosting a talk by guest speaker, Peter Martin AM, at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 21.

Peter is the Business and Economy Editor for The Conversation (Australia), and a Visiting Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy at ANU.  He has been a journalist with the ABC for many years, working on a range of programs including AM, PM, the World Today, and most recently The Economists.

Peter’s talk, The Responsibility that comes with Working for the ABC, can be attended in-person at the Armidale Bowling Club (Auditorium), or viewed online.  Due to COVID restrictions, Peter himself will not be in-person, but will be broadcasting from Canberra on to a big screen in the Bowling Club auditorium. 

If you attend in person, meals and drinks (available at the bar from 5.30pm) can be enjoyed in the auditorium during the talk.  Tickets are $5.50, plus proof of a double vaccination for COVID-19 will be required.  Tickets are available through TryBooking (refer below); you will also be asked to indicate if you are dining (to ensure catering requirements are met by the Club bar).
