Congratulations to ABC Friends Victoria’s Geelong group which attracted more than 250 people to a public meeting calling for a Stronger ABC for Geelong on 28 May.
Former ABC presenter, Jon Faine, led the meeting, which included journalist, Margaret Simons, Geelong Authority chair Diana Taylor and Jeremy Crawford, CEO of the Geelong Chamber of Commerce.
Crucially, the panel also included ABC TV Mornings presenter, Michael Rowland, who promised to take the ideas expressed by attendees back to ABC management.
It is hoped that this event will significantly advance the ABC and ABC Friends influence across the region, with more plans already being discussed.
Particular thanks to Geelong Group convenors, Jenny and Jim, for such an effective event.
