Federal Budget offered no respite to the ABC

The Federal Budget offered no respite to the ABC with further reduction in funding in coming years and no announcement about repairing transmitters for the coming bush fire season.

Australia now has only a Minister for Non Communication as Paul Fletcher has refused to meet his Bradfield constituents and remains silent about vital elements of his portfolio responsibilities.

Clearly the 80% of public support for the ABC must be mobilised before the next election or our public broadcaster will continue to be targeted by those in power who favour overseas based commercial media.
