ABC Friends WA meets ABC State Manager Howard Gretton: Perth FM updates and the mystery of missing emergency radio signs along our southern highways.

The WA Committee met with the WA State Manager, Howard Gretton, on 2 December. His role is very flexible. He has met with ABC people Anabel Astbury and Caitlin Shea, who both came to Perth. He talked to Gavin Fearney, the only ABC Classic rep here, a Scots sound engineer who records most of WASO Concerts, and he has been talking to state and Federal MPs about the Perth metro transition to FM.
Mr Gretton asked about road signs showed ABC emergency stations. These are the ones that say ‘Tune into your local ABC radio frequency during an emergency.’. They seem to be absent from most of the Albany Highway and the South Coast Highway between Denmark and Walpole.
We need to find out more about these signs, like, who puts them up? If anyone knows, contact us on [email protected].
