In Conversation with Martin Flanagan

ABC Friends Northern Tasmania is delighted in invite you to attend an “In conversation evening” with Martin Flanagan.

Martin is one of Australia’s most respected journalists and authors. He was born in Tasmania in 1955 and graduated in law from the University of Tasmania in 1975. He started work as a journalist with the Launceston Examiner and wrote for The Age for 32 years until 2017. He has written 20 books, had a play at the Playbox Theatre in 2006 and has written film treatments. He has recently returned to live in Tasmania, choosing Launceston as his home town.

“When I talk to school kids, I tell them that just because there is so much trash journalism in the world, they should never think that good journalism doesn’t matter. It matters like clean air matters.”
