Latest news from NSW & ACT

Pop the champagne corks on 23 July!🥂 On this day 1 year ago with much effort by our IT Admin Phil Evans and the IT Sub-Committee Chair Chris. Cartledge, and also IT guru for NSW&ACT, our administration took a big step by going ‘live’ on the nationwide Nation Builder Customer Relationship Management System.

Chris. CartledgeOur data painstakingly uploaded, news added, links made with the National page, access to a National Facebook, and other social media, emails feasible to all NSW&ACT or regional branches of our members.  All went without a hitch: a very impressive achievement. To be fair, NSW&ACT’s launch followed the launch of the smaller number states where little glitches were ironed out first. Nevertheless, a remarkable achievement! Our warm appreciation to Chris. (pictured left) and Phil for their commitment to the project from which all our members are benefiting significantly. The steep learning curve has flattened considerably in the last year.

Also this week, the Northern Suburbs of Sydney (NSoS) Branch is not letting a virus slow them down.  They’ve sent articles to journals of organisations such as National Parks Association in NSW, the Colong Foundation for Wilderness drawing their members’ attention to the plight of the ABC with the massive cuts to its operational funding. The impact on environmental organisations of the ABC’s more limited ability or even complete inability to cover their projects is inestimable.  NSoS Branch has started its own Facebook page too.

And finally, our NSWACT President Ed Davis AM, addressed the Macquarie University’s School of Management Alumni on “The ABC in Crisis – Why Business should be Worried” earlier this week too.
