This year the WA committee tried to reach a younger audience by holding a stall at Edith Cowan University’s (ECU) Mt. Lawley campus Open Day on Sunday, 18 April.

It was also an opportunity to try out our new marquee. Our President can report that shorter people are definitely at a disadvantage when it comes to putting up a marquee! The weather was fine, if a little hot out of the shade in the afternoon. Committee members Terri, Michael, Cathy, Margo and I were joined by volunteers Susanna, Chilla, Marita, Angela, Peter and Eric for shifts during the day. We had lots of conversations with people young and older, handed out information flyers and stickers and quite a few membership forms.

We will be holding our AGM on Sunday 24 October at the ABC Building in East Perth, with ABC Chair Ita Buttrose as guest speaker, via Zoom of course. This will be open to both in-person and online attendees – you will be able to book soon.

And, an early heads-up - we have booked the Pavilion Restaurant in Joondalup for dinner on 23 November. We will send an email later.
