2025 will be a big year for ABC Friends as we campaign for a substantial increase in the ABC’s funding.

Whether it’s more programs for children, more arts and science reporting, or more international news, there’s so much more the ABC could offer – if only it were properly funded. 

And we’re not just talking about the quantity of programs. We want to see more hard-hitting news and analysis. Brutal cuts over almost a decade led to massive redundancies. Respected senior journalists departed and we’ve seen the impact on the ABC’s reporting.

In this first phase of the campaign, we’re asking you to tell us what programs or services you’d like the ABC to offer.

You might want better access to the ABC in your region, more state and local news and current affairs, more education programs … to mention just a few possibilities.

We’ll feature as many responses as we can in our campaign.

The campaign is our chance to remind politicians that the ABC matters – that, despite the best efforts by some to downgrade it, we’re not giving up on Australia’s most trusted media outlet.
