This week coalition Senator Sarah Henderson plans to seek a senate select inquiry to examine "the ABC's legal obligations regarding impartiality and accuracy."

Henderson wants to rewrite the ABC Act. It's a blatant attempt to pressure the ABC.

For weeks News Corp has led an unrelenting campaign to manufacture a crisis at the ABC. Supported by an array of past and present politicians, they've used a BBC incident to assert that a 2021 ABC Four Corners program distorted a speech by Donald Trump. The ABC's Managing Director, Hugh Marks has soundly debunked the claim as opportunistic and false.

Make no mistake. An inquiry into the ABC would quickly turn into a push to damage its integrity and undermine its independence.
