Dr Catherine Fargher discusses approaches to teaching media

Join AWGIE* award-winning scriptwriter and new-media producer, Dr Catherine Fargher, Lecturer in Media and Communications within the Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Language, and Literature, for an inspiring talk on the latest approaches to teaching media at Macquarie University's School of Communication, Society and Culture. Dr Fargher will explore how Macquarie’s curriculum fosters creativity, critical thinking, and ethical storytelling across digital platforms, preparing students for a dynamic media landscape. She will highlight the transformative role of the ABC in shaping public discourse with its commitment to independent, diverse, and impactful storytelling. Dr Fargher will also discuss the Macquarie University media internship program, which connects students with real-world opportunities, including potential placements with community groups such as ABC Friends.
