Calls to privatise the ABC continue to arise from a small, predictable range of sources.  For an account of these sources plus the claims they make (e.g., Institute for Public Affairs claims that "the ABC is dangerous to democracy"), you might want to look at a short video by Johnathan Holmes (ABC Alumni).  If you do not want to see the ABC privatised, please take this into consideration when you vote in May.  As an added irony, one could argue that a privatised ABC would hurt the existing mainstream commercial media by creating added competition for advertising dollars.
