The coming budget will put in place ABC funding for the next five years. Without additional funding, the ABC will be looking down the barrel at more job losses, more cuts to programs and more threats to quality.

Indispensable services like emergency broadcasts will come under even more strain.

We need to repair the damage done to the ABC NOW.

We can’t afford to wait another five years.

We know that the federal budget is tight with many demands on scarce resources. We know that it will be a struggle to win even small concessions.

We must make our voices heard.

So, we’re targeting the politicians in Canberra. We want all MPs and Senators – government, opposition, Greens and independents – to know that Australians expect them to support our national broadcaster.

We’ve already met with the Minister for Communications, Michelle Rowland, her Opposition counterpart, David Coleman, and several independents, and more meetings are planned. But we need to do more.
