Thanks to everyone who supported Senator Kristina Keneally’s effort to get a specific Inquiry into Australian Press Freedom.

Thanks to everyone who supported efforts to get a specific Inquiry into Australian Press Freedom. But there is more to be done!

Unfortunately, the Government instead has asked the Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security to consider how well Australian Press Freedom is protected.

ABC Friends is sceptical about the capacity and willingness of this particular committee to fully assess the critical role of media freedom in our democracy but, nevertheless, it is important that concerned citizens put forward their opinions.
