Webinar Recording: The ABC and the election

The next federal election is drawing close. The outcome will be crucial for the ABC. The ABC has been hit hard by years of drastic cuts to its funding. It has lost more than 1000 staff since 2014; premier programs have been dumped; others cut back. The Institute of Public Affairs is pushing hard for its sale.

In this webinar renowned journalist Quentin Dempster talks about the challenges facing the ABC while former NSW Fire Commissioner Greg Mullins discusses the ABC and the Black Summer Fires.

They are joined by the President of ABC Friends NSW & ACT, Cassandra Parkinson, and the webinar host, Professor Ed Davis, President of the Eastern Suburbs ABC Friends.
