Many ABC Friends will remember Paul Murphy the host of ABC PM 1983-1993.

Vale Paul Murphy, a Wonderful Communicator

He was a “giant of his generation" bringing his warm voice of humanity to political journalism as he reported on day to day local events as well as being there just when world events required his foreign correspondent reporting skills.

He was highly regarded by his colleagues for his wit and wisdom and I personally recall some of his fearless interviewing during the Hawke and Keating years.

Paul will be remembered for bringing his professionalism to programs like This Day Tonight, Nationwide and Dateline.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
