How we rate the Coalition, Labor and the Greens on their responses to our campaign platform

We asked the three major parties along with candidates in selected seats to answer six questions from our campaign platform. In drafting our analysis, we considered the responses to our questionnaire and took into account the parties’ performance in government or opposition.

We asked the parties if they would:

• Support increased funding of $140 million per year for the ABC
• Fully fund the ABC's emergency service
• Oppose privatisation—no ads, subscriptions, or downgrading of services
• Ensure that high quality ABC services can be received by all Australians
• Take specific legislative and other measures to protect the ABC's independence
• Change the indexation formula for the ABC to cover the full impact of inflation, including the cost of content production

ABC Friends volunteers are using candidate scorecards at polling stations around the country, and we're spreading the word through an extensive social media ad campaign.
