During recent crises of bushfire, drought, and pandemic the ABC has continued to offer essential services: information, warnings, and advice, as well as education, news, analysis, science, drama, music, and sport.
We have been engaged through innovative programming that offers a diversity of opportunities to participate in community debate. We have been able to voice our concerns, dance to our favourite music and keep well informed in these worrying times.
The ABC has supported us so now it is time for Australians to support the future direction of an independent reliably funded ABC.
We need to know what is in an ABC Five Year Plan currently being considered.
It should be released immediately for discussion so we can be assured it will add value rather than curtail the role of the ABC.
Make sure our representatives in Canberra value ABC staff as essential workers who must not be left to join JobSeeker queues.
