ABC Friends SA/NT representatives, Judy Gonda, Lachlan White and Peter Vandeleur recently met Rebekha Sharkie, Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of the ABC. Rebekha, the Federal Member for Mayo, is a strong supporter of the ABC and generously shared her time to discuss the key issues of independence and more secure funding. The Parliamentary Friends of the ABC, which has approximately 15 members and is co-chaired by Andrew Wilkie, aims to “provide a forum for raising awareness and support for the vital services the ABC provides to the Australian community”.
