Here is the latest edition of Update magazine from ABC Friends.

As I write this I'm celebrating the ABC's decision to reverse its cancellation of the state-based Sunday night news bulletins. It's fantastic that pressure from you helped persuade the ABC to retain this valued service.

The end of the Sunday bulletin was one of many cuts that were announced in July as part of the most recent ABC restructure. Underpinning the restructure was the ABC’s commitment to a Digital First ABC. The strategy will alter the ways in which the ABC creates, produces and distributes content.

This issue and many others are covered in this latest issue of our magazine.

The cuts were a timely reminder that all is not well at the ABC. Years of cuts have taken their toll.

Over coming months we’ll be calling on our members for support as, once again, we campaign to restore and renew Australia’s public media organisation – because once it’s gone we’ll never get it back.
