The August edition of Update is now available - Update Vol.31(2).  As per usual, there are a number of interesting articles in this edition, but there is one that strongly captures the essence of independent journalism and reasons why at times it might be found to be wanting.  This article is the Tasmanian State News (pp.25-26), which provides insightful commentaries from Peter George, Deborah Fleming and Martin Flanagan.  No organisation is perfect, including the ABC, but in identifying where things can go wrong we can eventually work to create better outcomes.
