ABC also contributes to the Australian Economy

We all know that the ABC makes social, cultural, artistic and educational contributions to the Australian community.  Also as important are the political and public benefit (e.g., reports on potentially corrupting practices) contributions.  But a number of commentators still query the financial cost to the Australian public of running the national broadcaster (about $800m per year; transmission costs are separate), while ignoring the benefits which I have just listed.  In fact, a recent 2021 report by Deloitte Access Economics points out that from 2017-2020 the ABC made an explicit contribution to the Australian economy of $744m.
